Installment #3 - 1D7W
This installment deals with a unique workout developed by Wendy Ingraham which involves Stair Climbing. No, not the stairs in your gym, but out in the real world. The stairs in Santa Monica are excellent and also in Redondo Beach but you can find them almost anywhere. Make sure you mix it up with going down the stairs backwards and climbing the stairs backwards to work all the muscles in you legs.
- Warm up with a short low heart rate run (about 15 to 20 minutes)
- On the first set of stairs walk. (Remember to take a 30 second break between segments)
- The second time run half and walk half
- When going back down on the third trip walk backwards this developed all the muscles in your legs.
- Fourth time skip a step for half the stairs and the second half run.
- On the fifth trip use as a warm down and go up the steps backwards.
Add a set of stairs to your workout once every week. The workout should take about 40 minutes.
By week four you should develop some serious booty power.
Final note from Wendy this week
"A 20 minute nap a day can increase your thought process up to 30%. It is better than a recovery drink. It allows your body to rejuvenate and recover naturally."
